200 Dollar Cake

1 1/2 oz. red food coloring
3 Tbs. Nestles Quik
1/2 cup Crisco shortening
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 1/2 cups sifted flour
1 cup milk, mixed with 2 Tbs white vinegar
1 Tb. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 350 °F. Mix food coloring with Quik and set aside. Cream Crisco and sugar; add eggs and beat well. Add food coloring. Add flour mixture to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Beat well. Add vanilla and baking soda. Pour into greased and floured pans. Bake 35 minutes.

Icing:
8 Tbs Crisco
1 cup sugar
2/3 cups milk
1 stick margarine
3 Tbs flour
1 tsp vanilla

Cook milk, flour, and 3 Tbs sugar until thick; let cool to room temperature. Beat margarine, crisco, and sugar; add milk mixture, add vanilla and beat well.
